a very profitable business. Professional beauticians, hairdressers,
manicurists and pedicurist earn decent salaries supplemented
by commissions and generous tips from clients. The salary
structure is based on the standing of the individual parlor
you work in. This would vary from Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 15,000
per month depending on your experience and expertise. For
a salon owner, average earnings may be five to six times that
of the actual
overhead expenditure. |

| Self-employment is a popular
route in the beauty business. After gaining sufficient experience,
you can opt to be a freelance beauty therapist and provide
services to clients in the privacy of their homes. You could
also work form your own home. |

| To work as a freelancer
you must ideally have contracts and agreements with schools,
colleges and clubs to provide service for their social and
cultural activities. Hostels and quality nursing homes too
may require the services of a good beautician or hairdresser
on a freelance basis. Television and film companies also need
freelance beauticians. |
