Minimum Qualification: |
Undoubtedly a natural aptitude
and talent are important but formal training in an institution
or under expert guidance helps foster and polish artistic
skills. Commercial art have before them a large number of
opportunities. A commercial artist has various job openings
in art studios, advertising agencies, publishing houses, departments
of commercial establishments etc. |
A large number of commercial artists
are freelancers and they design a range of items. They design
for advertising agencies, fashion houses and other places
needing their expertise. |

Remuneration: |
The remuneration of commercial
artists varies. Commercial artists designing magazine covers,
etc. start with a salary of Rs. 4000-6000 per month. At a
senior level they can draw as much as Rs 12000-15000 per month.
Freelance commercial artists can draw anything between Rs.
4000-20000 or more depending upon how established they are.
Academies such as the Lalit Kala Akademi. reward artists for
exceptional work. These awards enable young talented artists
to gain recognition. |

Specialists in the fine
arts can work as freelancers or can be employed by TV and
film studios. They can also teach art at both the school and
college level. A commercial artist has various job openings
