| Decide about the type
& severity of accident. If the injury is mild then only
try to give first aid before calling doctor. In case of
serious accident the doctor should be consulted immediately. |

Confirm whether person is breathing
or not. If necessary provide him with artificial respiration
(methods for artificial respiration are discussed under
the topic of drowning). |

If the person in uncoscious try to
make him conscious. |

If possible try to make loose clothes
around his chest and neck. |
|
If there is any bleeding take steps
to stop it as described under bleeding. |
|
If there is any fracture apply a bandage
around it and try to immobilise the fractured site. |
